28 eggs later

Jack and Stu were a little stressed when they couldn't find the brown chook today. She was quietly hiding 28 eggs. So that's where all the eggs have been going!

Feeling better... back to work

There was no time for Tea and Scones at Royalla today. Since the triplets arrived and the bitter cold weather was coming over we had lots of work to do. Jack loved helping Uncle Mike with the wood.

And then they fed hay to the cows.

We put the triplets in a nice warm shed.

And I looked pale and cold in between taking photos and chasing mama sheep.

Prints and Stickers

Since we have been inside most mornings until 10am when the temps rise above 4C, Jack has acquired some new prints and stickers. We have also been cooking and today we made chocolate chip cookies. It was the only way I could stop him from asking to go to daycare!

Sickness and Health

I have been terribly sick all week and Jack has been my most helpful boy. This is the face who comes to my bed to check on me constantly and brings me lemonade and hot water bottles. He has given me lots of cuddles and been such a beautiful helper.

I love this boy!

Darling Harbor

Jack and I drove into Darling Harbor to meet Stu after a long week of training. Jack slept from Canberra to Cambelltown and enjoyed the tunnels and traffic as we approached the city.

Jack and I played in the park at Darling Harbor and watched the trains go past until Stu came home and we went out to Hurricane's Grill with the boys.

Jack and I had time to explore again the next day while Stu finished some training and we had breakfast in bed and then found the Chinese Gardens. There was a chill in the air and a hint of drizzle but it was so much warmer than home.

Jack loved the gold fish and finding his way through the maze.

After a 3 hour nap Stu returned in time to take us to the sting rays. The aquarium is our favourite place to visit and it's such a bonus that teachers are free :)

After the aquarium Jack was tired and asking for cuddles.... this is when we should have 'clicked' because not long after he was very sick. The poor boy.

Stu went out to get us some Mochi for dessert while the boy recovered. Shu Shin Bon makes the most delicious black forest daifuku. Trust me.

This was the view that we awoke to every morning. Jack loved seeing the traffic and the construction. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast in the restaurant which was right over the traffic with a clear view of the harbor.

We went for a quick trip into The Markets at The Rocks before Jack started to look pale and wanted more cuddles so we ended our trip early and the boy had a good rest on the way home.

Molly 13 months

When Molly was a tiny baby we called her, 'spider monkey.'

Today she lived up to her name.

Danny & Leasa

Uncle Dan & Aunty Leasa have been together since they were teenagers. Yesterday they decided to make things official and tie the knot. Uncle Danny wore a tie for the first time, his hands were sweaty and he had a nervous grin when he greeted us.

It was a beautiful winter's day.

Say, 'BEGA Cheese!'

The sisters and the MoG had a lovely afternoon. Hot food was served minutes after the ceremony had ended.

The Motbey girls hovered around the fire and as the afternoon wore on we added layers of clothing.

The traditional Holzhauser family dinner was delicious and I had a second helping. There were too many desserts to choose from. The cake made it safely (with a minor repair) down the mountain and the 20mins of winding gravel on Buckajo Road.

And they grinned at each other like they did when they were teenagers. Proud as punch.

NB. Jack & Stu stayed at home. Jack had another throat infection and Stu had a man-cold (quite a serious condition.) And here is where I say, 'Damn you stupid wombat!' Please don't leave your wombats to walk across the middle of the highway at 10pm at night. Gawd!

Birthday Girl Tayliah

Tayliah had a beautiful butterfly birthday today.

Jack and Kai showed her how to open the presents.

And she has this gorgeous smile for her cousin as she toddles around after him.

Ma & Jack

Jack and I have a common love. We love to sleep for hours and hours.

This holiday is all about me and Jack catching up on zzz... and we are both feeling so relaxed and refreshed.

It has been -4 every morning this week and it doesn't warm up until about 10 so we are staying in our pjs, watching cartoons and using the hall way as our bowling alley.

Cute?

Jack stayed with Janet today while Stu and I went for our first look at the new baby. I asked him if he wanted to come with us and he said, 'No, stay Grace's house.'

It was very reassuring to see the little heart beat. But Stu and I couldn't really make much else out.

The lady said that she saw a suspicious blur between the legs but she couldn't be sure what it was. When Jack was 12 wks they were sure he was a boy and the pictures were a lot clearer. She said it would be interesting to know if she was right when we come back in 2 months.
So that means I have to wait another 2 MONTHS! I will be counting down the days.

The baby measured 5.8cms and looked very normal and healthy. We could see the tiny legs kicking and bouncing.

I want my MONEY BACK Intelligender!

Chicken Soup

Nan R made chicken soup for lunch after swimming lessons today. It was delicious and Jack ate the whole bowl.

We all had to have a nap after eating such hearty meal for lunch. And while Jack was having an even longer nap I helped Nan to make the Bemboka wedding cake for next weekend.

There will be some better photos of the cake next week... after it makes it down the Brown Mountain.

A brother or a sister?

Stuart and I are so excited to announce to the world that we are having another baby. We have been patiently waiting until I had my 7 years long service leave so that I can take most of next year off.

I am 12 weeks pregnant today which means that the baby is due on Jack's BIRTHDAY next year. Every time we ask Jack if he would like a 'brother or a sister' he says, 'sista.' So he wasn't at all surprised with the results of the Intelligender test that I took 2 weeks ago.

The Intelligender test has only been 70% accurate since it was put on the market so we won't be buying anything pink but it was fun to test anyway.

Now we know what we have to look forward to next year... I'm going to get all the sleep I can in 2009!
