Jack is ready for Adventure

Yesterday Jack and I stayed in the apartment all day so that we could pack and clean and Stu could pick up Prescott, Amy & Elisabella from the airport. It was far too hot and humid to go for a walk (30C & 88% humidity) so we really had to stay inside for most of the day.

After putting on another load of washing I came out to find how Jack had been entertaining himself.....

He also climbed into his own high chair to let me know it was time for lunch!

I have been very careful since the last monkey incident to keep the chairs pushed in but Jack has also figured out how to push them out and he is bored of the simple life and ready for an LA/Las Vegas/Californian adventure!

911

Jack finally called the cops on us.

A couple of days ago I heard a very loud banging at our front door, only to be greeted by the US police.

Apparently 'someone' had called 911 and hung up and then left phone off the hook.

On hearing how old Jack is and that I thought it must have been him.

(*best read with a yankee accent)
*The officer said, 'Were you trying to call Australia? Is THAT how this happened? You WERE trying to call Australia this morning weren't you?'

'I'm sorry officer I wasn't trying to call home, I use the computer to call home and my son is far too young to call 911 let alone know what it is. He was just playing with the phone. I am very sorry I have wasted your time.'

*'Well Ma'am you had better put that phone out of his reach then and be careful when you are trying to call Australia.'

JUST DEPORT US ALREADY!

Here is Jack making small talk with 911.

Wegmans on Memorial Day

Jack and I took photos of our favourite supermarket when we went shopping today. It was crazy-busy because of the public holiday today. Memorial Day marks the start of the summer in America and it was 30c today and it was beautiful. All of the public pools open today which is fun and the days seem so long as the sun rises at 6 and doesn't set until 8.30pm. Thankfully, Jack has block-out blinds so he doesn't rise until 8am.

Jack has been a great helper when it comes to shopping. He drives the cart around Wegmans (usually eating a spring roll) and then he helps to pack the shopping onto the belt and even signs his name for the bill.

Thanks big boy.

Bbq at Lynda & Col's Place

Thanks Lynda and Colin for hosting the bbq for the birthdays. The celebrations are finally over!

The food was delicious and the mint and chocolate ice cream cake from cold stone was superb.

After a very long night we managed to drag ourselves out of bed and make our way to the historic battlefields of Gettysburg for Grandma and Grandpa's souvenirs. Grandma and Grandpa would have loved Gettysburg with it's hundred or so antique stores, museums, battlefields and cemetery. We found the perfect Southern doll for Grandma and the confederate flag for Grandpa.

We put our nice shirts on and off we went to Texas De Brazil - this one's for Jules.

Jack's excited.

Spit Roasted Lamb

The boys - Belgium on the right, US on the left and can you spot the Aussies in the middle?

The Belgium guys were equally scared of the plastic desserts as we were.

Happy Birthday Stu - Brazilian Cheesecake.
