Family Day Care
It was Jack's first day of family day care today with Mehjabin and her 12 month old daughter Samirah. Jack had a lovely nap there in the morning and I picked him up after lunch. He was happy to see me and he had a great day. Samirah means 'entertaining companion' which is exactly what she was for Jack today. I was lucky to have a quick visit to see Tayliah & Kai's beautiful mum.

Sista
Kai's baby 'sista' was born yesterday at 2pm by a planned cesarian. She is a tiny 3.2kgs and 49cms. Well done to Justine & Chris! The second one has got to be easier - right?

18 Months
Next week Jack will be 18 months old. We feel like he is now officially a little boy and not a baby any more. The perks of this include sleeping through the night - every night, playing by himself and generally being a good kid who doesn't easily get over tired and likes to help where he can. Jack has a full set of teeth and a wicked sense of humour. He gives as much love, affection and kisses as he receives and appreciates the things we do together. We are enjoying this honeymoon time before we have to get rid of the dummy, start some serious toilet training and battle with the tantrums that the 'terrible twos' might bring.
Jack also had some photos with his cousin today, you will be able to see them here.

CONGRATULATIONS
Samuel Major was born tonight at 7.05pm and John and Jules are already the best parents ever.
Mum and Dad are both 'shattered' says Jules after a long labor, he is finally here.
LOVE, LOVE and thinking of you!

Boys Night
The boys stayed in tonight while Mum went out on the town with the girls, they ordered pizza and hung out on the couch.

Baby Born
The girls came over for lunch today. Molly was such a little doll and Jack loved having them here. Molly was weighed and measured today and she is little and 10th percentile for all her stats but steadily putting on weight which is good.
After the girls left we jumped in the cold, wet sand pit and Jack and I built sand castles and then kicked them over. The sun is shining today and in the sun it almost feels warm.

Music Appreciation
Juliette & John's baby is due tomorrow after the longest pregnancy in history. Jules is so boooorrred that she is sending Jack music appreciation lessons via youtube. So here is what he thought of Georgia Sattelites - Keep Your Hands to Yourself.

10 Little Babies
While we were in America, John took such good care of the fish tank that we had some anemone babies. Our last anemone cloned its self which was also amazing to see. I'm pleased to say that they have grown in size and when they double in size again they will be worth at least $100 each!

Lovey
Up until Jack was 12months old it was the dummy and his tight wrap that did the trick. Since Jack made his police bear in NY he has loved him and taken him to bed for every nap. Aunty Rach bought Jack this bucket of Farm animals last week and Jack has been carrying them around everywhere he goes. This morning he would not go for a nap without his farm animals.

Thankyou NanR
Nan in Royalla looked after Jack while Stu and I went to work for the last 2 weeks. Jack has enjoyed spending time with the Motbey's in Royalla more than he even liked Disneyland. Nan & Aunty Erin drove for almost an hour every morning to pick Jack up from Lyneham and I got a running commentary every afternoon of Jack's day and usually a hot cup of tea as well. (no cupcakes though)
Jack learnt to say 'moo' for the cows and 'woof' for the dog. He also learnt to say 'mummy' and 'daddy' while he was there. He spent some time with Molly and the Aunties and Uncle and did a lot of chook rounding. Jack was in charge of helping out with dishes and bringing in the wood for the fire. He helped move books and even put the baby to sleep. I was most impressed when I was shown all of the raking that Jack did in the barn.
Thanks again to my mum for giving Jack a wonderful opportunity and going way out of the way to help us out again.
