This weekend has been lovely. The mum has been sick and it's raining outside, so both are good excuses to enjoy being tucked under a blankie, sipping hot tea (or cold juice) and watching TV in our trackies.
Jack has been coming up with at least 3-4 new words each week so there has also been some good conversation and we've been reading some books too. New words include: shoes, Jules, turtle, tissue, cheese, juice, Andrew, mandarin, cold. Those are just a few but my favourite is when Jack sings, 'Baa Baa Black Sheep' he also sings the words, 'Have you any wool?'
NB. There are no pictures this weekend as my computer is as sick as I am.

On Sunday we Heard the Cattle in Bemboka
It is always worth the 5 hour-round trip to Bemboka for the day. Jack was a great boy in the car and slept the whole drive home from pure exhaustion. He was spoilt with hand knitted jumpers, toys and lollies and loved the animals. Nan B gave him a great big stick to help us heard the cattle and he thought that was marvelous. Despite the cows being at least 10x his size he petted them on the head and reminded them to 'mooo.'

Jack rode in Pop's truck and ate sausages for lunch. I couldn't think of a better way to spend a Sunday.

Don't forget the web album :)

Baby Sam
Happier times have come our way and on top of finally getting all of our travel insurance money back (from our trip to the US 3 months ago) we also won a meat tray at dinner tonight.
And Jack just adores him and constantly wants to give him kisses, he claps his hands to gesture that it is his turn to hold him again.

Grief
We say goodbye to Grandma tomorrow. I'm glad that Jack had so many opportunities to spend with his grandma but it's a shame that he probably won't remember her. He brought her happiness when she was going through so much pain over the last year. Jack is still keeping everyone on their toes and it's hard to stay sad with a toddler around to cheer everyone up, even if it is just for a minute.

This is a very special photo to us of our most happy time with Grandma. It was taken in March last year when we all went to Ballina to visit Great-Grandpa.

I still call Australia home......THANK GOD!
I stumbled over this website today. Each dot represents a sex offender and you type in your address and the map shows you were they all live around you.
Scary, this was only 30mins drive away from where we lived in Ashburn.

Mummy-Blogging
I am proud to call myself a mummy blogger.
In the past this blog was written in the first person from Jack's perspective (and only about Jack) but in reality this blog has become more, and more about our family. I read this great post about mummy-blogging today and I hope you take more away from this mummy-blog than just another mother documenting her child's early development :) It is indeed a sign of the times and how seriously I take this position as mother to Jack and wife to my husband.
Enjoy

To Ikea and beyond
I just thought I'd let you all know that at the tender age of 27, I HAVE HAD THE BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!
It was a perfect winter day in Sydney today and we had a wonderful lunch at the Sushi Bar at Sydney's Fish Market. The sushi was very fresh and delicious.
The marines were my favourite and our tank at home has a long way to go before we get to this stage :)
We drove through the peak hour traffic to get to Ikea and it was storage heaven. Stu bought me a new entertainment unit and a clothes airer, we had fun picking out the different pieces while Jack had a good nap in the pram. It's amazing to see how the flat packing makes a big piece of furniture so compact but we were glad that Grandpa let us borrow his car because the clothes airer wouldn't have fit in our car and it was a luxury having so much room.
THANKS to EVERYONE for the BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!

Bowling & Crepes
We celebrated Uncle Mike's Birthday with bowling followed by my choice of dinner, chicken and mushroom crepes. They were delicious - thanks MUM!

I was also lucky to give my beautiful niece her first 'bot, bot' with formula and she sculled down 100mls in about 5mins flat!
It was Jack's first time bowling and he had a great game.

Shake Your Groove Thang
According to Mehjabin at Family Day Care, Jack's favourite music is Bollywood. However if you ask Stu - he says Timberland. I'm not sure but I still think Humphrey is his favourite with the 'Duck Duck' song?

Jack is having some happy times at Samirah's house and her mum reports that he is a lovely boy who is good all of the time. (I hardly believe it) He is a gentleman and he gives Samirah kisses and they play chasing and have fun all day. Since Jack has all of his teeth he has been able to enjoy twisties and he finds life's pretty straight without them.
